Here at Gametraders Seaford we take Trading Card Game Trade ins for cash & store credit!
How does it work?
You can bring your trading cards in store to be evaluated for a potential trade in! When one of our friendly trade-in approved staff are available, they can look over your cards to get an estimated value and let you know how much we can offer for your cards.
Depending on the volume of cards to be looked at and the availability of our trade-in approved staff, we will do our best to look at your cards at anytime or we may request for your cards to be left with us for a short period of time in the case of a larger volume trade in or a busy work period.
We encourage you to bring in your trade-ins during week days to help avoid disappointment of not being able to look at your cards on the spot during busy periods especially on weekends.
Which Trading Card Games to we accept as trade ins?
We currently accept the following games for potential trade-ins in store:
Magic the Gathering
Pokemon
Yu-Gi-Oh
Is there anything specific that we don't take as trade ins?
Please be aware that we do not currently take Sports cards. Japanese Pokemon cards or graded Pokemon cards may be taken on a case by case basis.
The condition of your cards is also very important when trading in, If a card is deemed too damaged by our staff we may decline to accept it for trade in as well.
How do we evaluate your cards?
Here at Gametraders Seaford we use multiple sources to get the best approximate value when evaluating your cards.
Some of the main ones we use when getting an estimated value is TCGplayer Market Price (converted to AUD currency), Collectr (in AUD currency), and confirmed sold listings on Ebay.
We only provide evaluations for cards in store. We are unable to provide values over the phone, email or via online messaging.
Evaluations are only valid at the time of processing. If a price is offered to you for your cards after an evaluation and you choose not to accept it at that time, then that price may be subject to change if the cards are presented to us again at a later date.
Please note we are only able provide evaluations for cards being traded in. We are unable to provide a service for customers just wanting an idea on what their cards are worth.
What are our trade in rates?
Our rates can vary depending upon our stock levels and what we are looking to buy. The current buy rates* listed below for each game are based on anything we would sell for $5 or above:
Pokemon: 70%, store credit, 70% cash
Magic The Gathering: 60% store credit, 50% cash
Yugioh: 60% store credit, 50% cash
Rates for bulk cards do vary heavily depending on how much bulk we already have in stock at the time of the trade in. We may decline to take bulk as a trade in if we are overstocked at the time.
*Current buy rate effective from 17 October 2025. We reserve the right to change the advertised buy rate.
Please be aware that we require a Government issued photo ID at the time of your trade-in (Drivers Licence or Proof of Age Card).
